At Daintree Saltwater Barramundi we rear our fish using industry best practice and husbandry techniques, in accordance with strict environmental management guidelines. Our fingerlings are carefully selected from local hatcheries, to ensure only the highest quality stocks are on-grown. Our large earthen ponds are filled with the finest salt water from the nearby Daintree River, which runs through the World Heritage listed Wet Tropics Rainforest to the Great Barrier Reef. This pristine water source is maintained on our farm to provide the perfect barramundi habitat. Our fish are allowed to mature naturally over a 12 – 18 month period.
