As well as tasting amazing, barramundi are also appreciated and respected as a fine fighting fish by anglers of all ages. That’s why Daintree Saltwater Barramundi opened up its Big Barra Pond for fishing tours. The tours include 1-hour of catch and release, land-based fishing, and although it’s called the Barra Pond, there’s other species in there too, including some monster Mangrove Jacks. Our fish – they’re big – including quite a few which are up to and over 1 metre and while they’re farm raised, they’re still wild creatures with plenty of fight. When there’s ‘Fish On’ get ready for jumping, popping, kick flips and dorsal smashing.
Our barramundi fishing tours include all equipment and tuition. The tour price is for catch and release, but there’s also the option to purchase your catch and take it home, at additional cost. For more information, check out the Hook-A-Barra website.
Aussie Barra is the best in the world. It’s full of vitamins and minerals and it tastes great.
Our Barra wins awards for its exceptional quality, clean, sweet taste and firm texture.
Our farm is in the Daintree, surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest and Reef.
Best practice techniques ensure a consistent supply of quality Barra.
